LEGAZPI CITY — A village councilor was killed in a shooting in Guinobatan town in Albay on Sunday morning (August 11).

Brigadier General Andre Dizon, Bicol police chief, said Salvador Pardiñas, 51, a resident of Barangay (village) Maguiron, was sitting near a bakery when he was shot several times by an unidentified suspect in Barangay Iraya at around 8:40 a.m.

The victim was brought to a hospital but declared dead by the attending physician.

Investigation is ongoing to identify and arrest the suspect.
