P1.1M shabu seized from ‘high-value’ target in Batangas City

LUCENA CITY — Police seized more than P1.1 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) from a suspected big-time drug trafficker in a buy-bust operation on Thursday, June 27, in Batangas City.
Batangas provincial police drug enforcement unit members and local cops arrested “Angelita” at 8:45 p.m. after she sold shabu worth P300,000 to a poseur buyer in Barangay Alangilan, the Police Regional Office 4A said.
Law enforcers took from the suspect a paper bag with four sachets of shabu weighing 175 grams worth about P1,190,000 in the Dangerous Drugs Board valuation.
The police also seized the suspect’s mobile phone to be examined for drug transactions.
Authorities are tracking down the source of shabu peddled by the suspect, who was classified as a “high-value” target in the war on illegal drugs.
Now under police custody, Angelita faces anti-drug charges.
