Pagasa: Cloudy Wednesday with rain showers

Pagasa weather forecast June 26, 2024

MANILA, Philippines — Two weather systems will bring overcast skies and rain to parts of the country on Wednesday, according to the state weather bureau.

“The easterlies [affect] Luzon, while the Intertropical Convergence Zone, or ITCZ brings cloudy skies with chances of rains in parts of Visayas and Mindanao,” said Obet Badrina, weather specialist of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), in an early morning bulletin.

Badrina said easterlies, or the warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, will bring cloudy skies and scattered rain showers to the Bicol region, Eastern Visayas, Aurora and Quezon.

The Caraga and Davao regions will likewise have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ, or cloud bands consisting of showers and occasional thunderstorms that encircle the globe near the equator.

Fair weather, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, is forecast in Metro Manila as well as the rest of Luzon and the Visayas.

The rest of Mindanao will also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies, only with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, despite the presence of the ITCZ.

No tropical cyclones are expected to form or enter the Philippine area of responsibility in the next three days.

Pagasa added that no gale warning is in effect over any of the country’s seaboards.
