Marcos teases Revilla’s wife: You’re now caregiver to an action star
MANILA, Philippines— President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday made a quip about Cavite Rep. Lani Mercado that she had turned into a caregiver following her ”action star” husband Senator Bong Revilla’s injury.
During the alliance signing of Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) and Marcos’ Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) in Makati City, Revilla made his first public appearance since his injured Achilles tendon operation.

“I was teasing Cong. Lani, sabi ko sa kaniya, ‘Akala mo napangasawa mo action star, ngayon naging caregiver ka,’” said Marcos while greeting his guests in his speech.
(I was teasing Cong. Lani, I told her ‘I thought your husband was an action star, now you are his caregiver.)
Besides being a senator and the chairman of the Lakas-CMD, Revilla is also an actor known to star in action films.

During the event, Revilla assured the public that he was in recovery.

“I am getting better, getting better. And of course, still recovering. Road to recovery, but it’s a long way to go. Three to six months to one year, because it is an Achilles tendon rupture; they totally cut it,” said Revilla in a mix of English and Filipino.
