“Anything is possible,” said the Speaker.

Relations between Duterte and Marcos have progressively soured since the former hurled drug accusations against the President.

Romualdez also said that an alliance with Hugpong ng Pagbabago was also open for discussion. Pushed further for other possible parties that could be part of the alliance, the Speaker said he did not want to preempt anything.

Lakas-CMD is also currently fielding a senatorial slate for the 2025 midterm elections, according to Romualdez.

“There are many, many considerations there; we leave it to the collective wisdom of the alliance leadership,” said Romauldez when asked what qualifications they are looking for in candidates.

Romualdez also said that candidates would preferably be in favor of constitutional amendments.
