The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Saturday said jeepney drivers affected by the implementation of the government’s public utility vehicle modernization program may seek cash grants under two of its programs as long as they are eligible to be recipients. Irene Dumlao, spokesperson for the DSWD, said the programs include the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation or the Sustainable Livelihood Program to public utility vehicles (PUV) drivers who were not able to comply with the consolidation requirements before the April 30 deadline.
