MANILA, Philippines — Several local governments suspended in-person classes on Thursday, April 25, amid “dangerous” peak heat indexes.

According to the state weather bureau, high heat indexes exceeding 42 degrees Celsius may cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and even heat stroke during continued exposure.
