GSIS launching 2025 STEM scholarship program
MANILA, Philippines — The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) said that it will offer a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)-focused scholarship program for 2025.According to its announcement on Monday, this will replace its present Educational Subsidy Program, which was phased out this year.“The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has phased out the Educational Subsidy Program (GESP) this year. Current beneficiaries will still continue to receive their scholarship until graduation,” GSIS said.
“In its place, the GSIS will launch a new scholarship program in 2025, focused on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics),” it added.
The agency said that this move will help in nation-building, as well as invest in education.
“This initiative is not just an investment in education but a strategic move towards nation-building, by preparing skilled professionals in fields where expertise is critically needed,” it said.
The GSIS said that further details such as eligibility and the application process will be announced at a later date.
