MANILA, Philippines?Lotto bettors will have another crack at winning one of the biggest lottery pots in the history of the country as the 6/55 Grand Lotto pot is expected to hit the P150-million mark during Wednesday night?s draw.
According to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), Wednesday night?s top prize is expected to reach P150 million since no bettor was lucky enough to guess correctly the six-number combination drawn last Monday.
Nevertheless, the PCSO disclosed that a total of 22 bettors missed only one number from the winning six-number combination of 38-10-49-40-09-26 last Monday. Each will receive P150,000 in consolation prize.
The PCSO earlier said the jackpot for the 6/55 Grand Lotto might keep on growing by leaps and bounds in a matter of time, with interest in the game picking up but with bettors missing the winning combination.
"The pot gets bigger because of the increasing number of bettors wanting to take a crack at it," said lawyer Lauro Patiag of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office's (PCSO) internal audit department in a previous interview.
Usually when the jackpot reached the P100-million territory, it increased by around P5 million to P8 million every draw date, the official explained. Numbers for the Grand Lotto are drawn on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
According to Patiag, the one-in-a-29 million chance of picking the winning combination for the Grand Lotto keeps the game interesting.
