MANILA, Philippines?Skyway has been constantly reminding the public of their toll rates increase so the public won?t be caught off-guard regarding changes, its spokesman told Radyo Inquirer in an interview on Tuesday.
?We already announced even our higher proposed toll rates as early as November, so I was wondering why there were many who are still shocked,? said Corporate Communications Officer Anna Gamboa in Filipino.
She said they were continuously announcing the possible increase even before it was approved by the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB).
According to Gamboa, the new toll rates that took effect Tuesday are: P65 for the Makati-Bicutan elevated stretch; P106 for Makati-Sucat; and P147 for Makati-Alabang. For the at-grade section, P44 for Makati-Bicutan; P75 for Makati to Sucat and P106 for Makati to Alabang.
Gamboa said the reconstructed toll rate even lowered down to P20.
Also, she said there would be no flooding in the at-grade because they already cooperated with the local government and has since fixed the drainage system in the area.
?People who find the rate too high may always take the alternate service road,? she added.
