MANILA, Philippines? The Light Rail Transit Authority will be strictly implementing a ?no inspection, no entry? policy in both its Lines 1 and 2 trains on November 1 and 2, an official said on Monday.
Passengers boarding trains are advised not to take deadly weapons, sharp and pointed objects, paint, gasoline, and large bags that exceed the 2 feet by 2 feet limit, said LRTA public information office chief Maria Kristina Cassion.
Passengers found to be intoxicated or under the influence of drugs will also be prohibited from boarding the trains, Cassion said.
The LRTA management has coordinated with the Philippine National Police for the deployment of additional rail policemen particularly in the stations of Abad Santos, R. Papa, and Blumentritt stations, where passenger influx is expected to be heavy because of a nearby cemetery.
Medical and public relations personnel were also directed to establish a Medical and Public Assistance Desk at the R. Papa Station, Cassion said.
The LRT Line 1 train traverses the Rizal Avenue-Taft Avenue route from Baclaran in Paranaque to Monumento in Caloocan while the Line 2 train traverses the Recto-Legarda-Magsaysay-Aurora Boulevard route from Rizal Avenue in Manila to Santolan in Pasig.
