MANILA, Philippines? The next few days will be wet and cloudy, even as Typhoon ?Huaning? continued to move away from the country Monday afternoon, the weather bureau said.
Huaning maintained its strength as it approached southern Taiwan and continued to enhance the southwest monsoon, bringing intermittent rains and cloudy skies to many parts of the country, including Metro Manila.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Monday lifted all public storm signals but cautioned small vessels not to brave the rough seas.
?We will still feel the effects of the southwest monsoon, especially in the western sections of Luzon and the Visayas,? weather forecaster Bernie de Leon told the Inquirer.
The heavy downpours that fell in many parts of Metro Manila Sunday and Monday were a ?typical effect? of the southwest monsoon, De Leon said.
He said this would continue throughout the week.
Pagasa said parts of northern Luzon ?will experience rains and occasional gusty winds and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.?
The rest of the country will have ?cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms? which ?may trigger flash floods.?
Pagasa Monday monitored a low pressure area hovering some 900 km east of northern Mindanao but De Leon said it was still outside the country?s area of responsibility.
