MANILA, Philippines—(UPDATE 2) As far as ABS-CBN is concerned, Diether Ocampo is still a contract artist.

According to a short statement provided the Philippine Daily Inquirer, ABS-CBN stressed that Ocampo remained an artist of its talent arm Star Magic and said the network was awaiting a final decision from the actor on transferring to rival network GMA 7.

“Diet remains in Star Magic. We will trust he will make the right choice,” the statement said. The network said it will issue a final statement soon.

Ocampo’s camp reportedly denied that the actor had already signed a contract with GMA 7, contrary to the Kapuso network’s claim of an initialed “long term” agreement.

The actor is a 13-year talent of ABS-CBN, where he is one of the network’s premiere actors both in its film and television productions.

He last appeared in the recently concluded ABS-CBN drama “Iisa Pa Lamang,” opposite Claudine Barretto and Gabby Concepcion.
