MANILA, Philippines --Suspected burglars broke into the house of former senator Vicente ?Tito? Sotto III inside a posh subdivision in Quezon City and took away cash and other valuables before dawn Tuesday, according to a complaint filed by the actor-turned-politician.

Sotto, 59, sought the assistance of Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 8 after unidentified individuals supposedly stole his wallet containing P5, 000, his gold ring worth P20, 000 and his mobile phone worth P30, 000, he said.

In his complaint, the former vice mayor of Quezon City said he was about to sleep at around 3:30 a.m. when he heard an unusual thud coming from the ground floor of his house on 79-B Katipunan Avenue, Barangay (village) White Plains.

Sotto, also a veteran comedian, said he then went outside his room to check what had caused the sound.

As he was about to return to his room, the former lawmaker said he noticed that the window near the stairway of his house had been opened.

He said he then hurried back to his room and found that the items he mentioned were gone.

In his report to the QCPD Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, Senior Inspector Gregorio Villanueva, of the QCPD Scene of the Crime Operatives, noted that aside from the opened window, ?there were no signs of forcible entry on the said residence.?
