Central Mindanao quakes topple, damage over 50 houses

A swarm of earthquakes struck Central Mindanao on Saturday, with the strongest one at noon knocking down at least 15 houses and damaging more than three dozen other structures in the town of Makilala in North Cotabato, officials said.

NPA owns attacks on mining facilities in Mindanao

Communist rebels on Wednesday owned Monday’s near-simultaneous raids on two mining facilities in Kiblawan, Davao del Sur, and Columbio, Sultan Kudarat, but were mum about Tuesday’s attack in President Roxas town, North Cotabato, in which five rebels were killed.
