Evac plans for Mindanao ahead of ’Pablo’

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) advised local disaster response offices in the Visayas and Mindanao regions, on Sunday, to implement preemptive evacuation as typhoon “Pablo” was seen to enter the Philippine area of responsibility Sunday night.

Incoming storm ‘Pablo’ may be stronger than Sendong

A storm in the Pacific Ocean intensified into a typhoon and will likely enter eastern Mindanao by early tomorrow morning, the state weather bureau Pagasa said yesterday.

Storm ‘Pablo’ could become supertyphoon

Weather forecasters fear an approaching storm, which is expected to enter the country’s area of responsibility on Monday morning, would turn into a supertyphoon even stronger than the destructive “Sendong” that hit the same threatened area of the country last year.
