If the Edsa Revolution were to happen today, People Power might temptingly include a side trip to the mall. The loyalist Gen. Fabian Ver would have a hard time looking for open fields to deploy tanks but could put snipers up on the billboards, and the defecting Lt. Gen. Fidel V. Ramos would still make his famous victory jump—though with fewer people to see him, thanks to the elevated railway blocking the view.

Security guards at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City committed “lapses” that allowed robbers to sneak in and pull off a brazen jewelry store heist in the crowded mall Saturday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) official in charge of security agencies said Tuesday.

SM Megamall guards may have been ‘too lax’ – police

The Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Monday it would summon four private security agencies providing security to SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City following Saturday night’s daring jewelry heist carried out by six robbers inside the establishment over the weekend.
