Skyway road project ongoing

To address the growing number of vehicles using the Skyway System’s elevated and at-grade toll road sections going toward Makati via the Edsa-Magallanes flyover, Skyway O&M Corp. (Somco) is currently widening the toll road portion from the Skyway Magallanes off-ramp to connect it to the 250-meter road portion which was widened last year on the suggestion of Public Works Secretary Rogelio Singson.

Runaway tire causes 6-vehicle collision on Skyway

Six vehicles figured in a collision when the tire of one was detached as the vehicle traveled on the northbound lane of the Skyway approaching C5 Thursday, although no one was hurt in the accident.

Skyway’s leftmost lane off limits to buses, trucks

Skyway system operator, Skyway O&M Corp. (Somco), is warning drivers of buses and trucks not to use the leftmost or passing lane of its 13.5-km at-grade road section from Magallanes to Alabang and that of its 16.4-km elevated tollway as well.

Skyway, SLEx toll-free on Dec. 24, 25, 31 and Jan. 1

Motorists using the Skyway System’s 13.5-km Magallanes-Alabang at-grade and the 16.2-km Buendia-Alabang elevated sections, the 36-km South Luzon Expressway (SLEx) from Alabang to Sto. Tomas, Batangas, and the 42-km Star Tollway from Sto. Tomas to Batangas City will enjoy toll-free travel starting at 10 p.m. on Dec. 24 until 6 a.m. the following day, and from 10 p.m. on Dec. 31 up to 6 a.m. on Jan. 1.
