Residents along the coastal municipalities of Gumaca, Guinayangan, Plaridel, San Narciso, Atimonan, Buenavista, Calauag and Quezon have been warned of possible storm surges in their areas as typhoon “Glenda” has been predicted to hit the province Tuesday evening, said Henry Buzar, officer of Quezon’s Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.

City Mayor John Bongat on Tuesday morning directed the forced evacuation of residents in three low-lying areas in this city, which would likely be flooded by heavy rains to be brought by typhoon “Glenda” (Rammasun), which was expected to hit Camarines Sur in the afternoon.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office said a storm surge hit a village in Gigaquit town, Surigao del Norte last Saturday, destroying at least 13 houses.
