Survey shows most Filipinos approve of Aquino, Binay performace

Seven out of every 10 adult Filipinos approve of the performance of President Benigno Aquino III and Vice President Jejomar Binay and about the same number trust the country’s two top officials, the results of Pulse Asia’s latest survey show. The ratings were basically unchanged from what they were between January and February.

Survey’s biggest winner is Nancy Binay


The biggest winner in the latest Pulse Asia survey arguably was the daughter of Vice President Jejomar Binay. Riding primarily on the popularity of her high-profile father, Nancy Binay jumped to fourth to ninth places, trailing only incumbent Senators Loren Legarda, Francis Escudero and Alan Peter Cayetano. She was 12th in the Social Weather Stations survey last January.

Unemployment falls to 26.6% in SWS survey


Unemployment in the country dropped from an estimate of 13.8 million individuals in the first quarter to 10.9 million individuals in the second quarter, according to a recent survey by the Social Weather Stations (SWS).

Aquino aide calls for survey of cash dole recipients


Claiming the poorest of the poor were left out of regular surveys on poverty, an aide to President Benigno Aquino on Saturday said the country’s polling companies should do a survey among beneficiaries of the government’s conditional cash transfer program to determine if it has improved the lives of the poor.
