Court junks Gloria Arroyo motion

A Quezon City court has denied the motions of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and two retired generals to have a P15-million damage suit filed against them by members of the “Morong 43” dismissed. The six Morong 43 members claimed they were tortured by the military in 2010.

Health workers are protesting the recent promotion of two military officials accused of involvement in the torture of 43 health workers arrested in the town of Morong in Rizal province two years ago.

The military said Friday that they have pieces of evidence that will prove that their agents did not torture the “Morong 43.”
