The National Capital Region posted the highest number of confirmed measle cases in the country in 2011 at 1,193, or about 18 percent of the more than 6,500 cases reported nationwide in the same year, according to the Department of Health.
Two of the 620 reported cases of measles in the National Capital Region during the first quarter of 2011 resulted in deaths. This is lower than 10 deaths reported during the same period last year.—Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
A total of 3,274 confirmed measles cases were reported nationwide during the first quarter of 2011, according to data from the Department of Health.
