The word war over the cutting of trees for a road expansion project in the province continued Wednesday with former congressman Mark Cojuangco saying the provincial government actually violated its own environment code that allowed the cutting of trees for crucial road projects.

Former Pangasinan Rep. Mark Cojuangco on Wednesday questioned an agreement that stopped government road crews from cutting trees along the Manila North Road (MNR), which traverses his district in the eastern part of Pangasinan province.
Former Pangasinan Rep. Mark Cojuangco, who announced he was running for governor of the province in 2016, on Monday claimed responsibility for the cutting of hundreds of trees that used to line the sides of MacArthur Highway in five towns and Urdaneta City in Pangasinan province.
