Following the death of yet another San Beda College of Law student due to hazing, lawmakers on Wednesday discussed ways of protecting the youth from falling victim to violent initiation rites for fraternities.
Former Senator Joey Lina, author of the Anti-hazing law, blamed the weak implementation of the law for the continued deaths due to hazing.

The Senate will conduct a hearing, in aid of legislation, on the possibility of amending the existing laws on anti-hazing following the recent death of a San Beda College of Law freshman student in Cavite City on Tuesday.

The family of a freshman from the San Beda College of Law who died allegedly after initiation rites of a fraternity urged the Department of Justice (DoJ) on Tuesday to launch a thorough investigation into the tragedy.
