Farmers march on Palace demanding true reform

About a thousand farmers marched to Mendiola in Manila on Monday to mark the expiration of what they called “bogus” Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) and then called for free distribution of lands to farmers.

Aquino asked to reform DAR to complete agrarian reform targets

An official of the Catholic Bishops’ of the Philippines (CBCP) urged President Aquino on Monday to institute changes in the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) so that his administration could complete the implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) by 2016 as he had promised.

DAR sees wider land reform coverage

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) plans to place more farmlands under the agrarian reform program after civil society groups submitted lists for notices of coverage (NOCs) and President Aquino certified as urgent bills that would allow the agency to issue such notices even after June 30, an official said.
