Suspected Kashmiri rebels kill 3 Indian soldiers

An official says suspected rebels have ambushed and fatally shot three Indian army soldiers in the Indian portion of Kashmir.

Protest strike shuts Indian Kashmir

Shops and businesses are shut in Indian-controlled Kashmir in response to a strike called by separatist groups to protest firing by government forces that wounded seven civilians in the disputed region.

Hundreds of Muslim protesters in Indian Kashmir clashed with security forces and burned a police vehicle on Tuesday during angry demonstrations over an anti-Islam film made in the United States.
