The estranged wife of Sen. Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III has sought a Church annulment of their marriage before the Marriage Tribunal of the Diocese of Bacolod.

A legal battle may be looming between Sen. Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III and his estranged wife, Jewel May Lobaton, over custody of their two sons. Lobaton is fighting hoping to have the boys returned to her after Pimentel allegedly took them on July 1 and has since prevented her from seeing them.

The estranged wife of Sen. Aquilino Pimentel III denied that a third party caused the breakup of their marriage.

Representative Anthony Rolando Golez Jr. yesterday denied being the cause of the breakup of the marriage of Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III and Jewel May Lobaton.

The announcement came quietly and was almost drowned by the day’s highly charged events at the Senate impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona.
