Scam leader’s in-law seized for P300M ransom

The blowback over a multibillion-peso pyramiding scam in Mindanao has taken an ominous turn after the brother-in-law of Jachob “Coco” Rasuman, the alleged brains of the Lanao del Sur-based investment scheme, was kidnapped by a group of armed men who are believed to be acting for victims who lost money in the Ponzi fraud.

DOJ seeks transfer of Rasuman case to Manila

The Department of Justice (DoJ) asked the Supreme Court to transfer the venue of the court cases filed against Jachob “Coco” Rasuman, the suspected leader of an investment scam group operating in Lanao del Sur.

A Cagayan de Oro City court on Friday issued warrants of arrest for the wife, father and other relatives of alleged investment scam leader Jachob “Coco” Rasuman following the filing of two new syndicated estafa complaints by the Department of Justice with the court.

Bigger money involved in Rasuman pyramid scam – DOJ

Justice Secretary Leila De Lima said on Wednesday that the amount of investment involved in the scam operated by Rasuman was bigger than that in the scam perpetrated by the Aman Futures Group.
