Indian police questioned an Uber executive Tuesday about the company’s claim it conducts comprehensive background checks after one of its New Delhi drivers was accused of rape.

The driver for international tax-booking service Uber suspected of raping a woman in New Delhi was escorted by police Monday to a court in the Indian capital to face charges.
