After mustering a quorum for the first time last Monday, the House of Representatives once again failed Tuesday to tackle the Freedom of Information Bill.

The Freedom of Information Bill was finally tackled at the House of Representatives on Monday.

It is a conscience vote for the House minority bloc in terms of their stand on the Freedom of Information Bill.

The Freedom of Information Bill (FOI) is part of the 15th Congress’ priorities in its last nine session days before legislators adjourn for the midterm polls, but Senator Gregorio Honasan said that the Senate will not interfere with the House of Representatives’ deliberations on the proposed measure.

Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz on Sunday said that almost all available data and performance reports of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will be posted online this year to enhance government transparency, reduce red tape and boost anticorruption efforts.
