The confessed triggerman of slain Palawan broadcaster Dr. Gerry Ortega was found guilty Tuesday by the Puerto Princesa Regional Trial Court and sentenced to life imprisonment.

The Court of Appeals maintained its 2012 ruling nullifying the body that created to investigate the involvement of former Coron Mayor Mario Reyes in the death of broadcaster Gerry Ortega and reinstating the ruling of the first panel finding no probable cause to charge him with murder.

Marlon Recamata, the triggerman in the Gerry Ortega murder case, is facing a new murder case in Quezon province that could land him in a similar jail facility where his companion, Dennis Aranas, died under mysterious circumstances.
