Biazon: Aquino not out to get Enrile, new EO on used-car import needed

Even as he denied the Aquino administration was going after Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, Customs Commissioner Ruffy Biazon on Wednesday urged President Aquino to issue a new executive order to settle once and for all whether the importation of used cars should be allowed in the country.

What Went Before: EO 156 banning importation of used cars

Following a slump in the sales of new motor vehicles in the country, then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo issued Executive Order No. 156 on Dec. 12, 2002, banning the importation of used vehicles (except light trucks, buses and special-purpose vehicles).
