The Office of the Ombudsman on Thursday asked the Sandiganbayan to freeze and seize over P130 million worth of allegedly ill-gotten assets of former Chief Justice Renato Corona and his wife Cristina, saying that the value of the properties they had acquired over a nine-year period was out of proportion to their lawful income.

The Office of the Ombudsman announced on Thursday it has begun a preliminary investigation of Janet Lim-Napoles, Senators Juan Ponce Enrile, Jinggoy Estrada and Ramon Revilla Jr. in connection with an alleged P10-billion racket to divert assistance intended for impoverished farmers to ghost projects and kickbacks.
