Here’s a tip to children coming from no less than a Roman Catholic priest: Don’t grouse if you failed to see your godparents on Christmas Day to ask them for gifts. You still have until New Year’s Day to hunt them down.

Warning sent out on toxic make-up sets for girls

The recent Miss Universe pageant may inspire little girls to play beauty queen and use toy cosmetics, but an anti-toxics group warned the public against giving these as Christmas gifts because of their high mercury content.

Policemen warned: Don’t ask, accept Christmas gifts
