Doctors want to keep Arroyo in hospital

Regular jail sought for Arroyo

State prosecutors will move for the immediate transfer to a regular jail of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo unless the Sandiganabayan, which is trying the plunder case against her, allows Arroyo’s continued confinement at the state-owned Veterans Memorial Medical Center.

The complaint for plunder, graft and malversation was filed in the Office of the Ombudsman on July 12, 2011, against former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and former Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) General Manager Rosario Uriarte in connection with the alleged misuse of over P325 million in intelligence funds of the agency.

It’s back to Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) for embattled former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Lying on a bed and with an IV drip, Arroyo was served an arrest warrant issued Thursday afternoon by the Sandiganbayan on plunder charges.
