Yemen’s interior minister said Saturday that his country was disappointed to find that a large and diverse cache of weapons seized on a ship last month had been exported from Iran, a finding Washington said underscores Tehran’s ongoing evasion of U.N. resolutions.
France, Britain, Germany and Sweden called Monday on the United Nations to quickly draw up a comprehensive arms trade treaty that will reduce what they called “a growing threat to humanity”.
UN member states agreed Friday on steps to move toward completion in July of a global treaty limiting the global arms trade, participants in a preparatory meeting said.
