CAMP VICENTE LIM, LAGUNA? Three family members died while five others, including children, were seriously injured after a jeepney rammed into the victims who were then at the roadside shortly before the eve of All Souls? Day in Lumban, Laguna.
Lumban Mayor Wilfredo Paraiso said the family was on its way home from a cemetery in Famy town at around 11:30 p.m. Sunday on a tricycle but upon reaching the national highway in Barangay Lewin, Lumban, the tricycle had a flat tire, prompting its driver to pull over and push it to the side of the road.
It was then that the jeepney driven by Adrian Magana, 27, rammed into the victims, instantly killing couple Lyor and Myra and daughter Kyla, all surnamed Fulo.
Five others identified as Ivan, 3, and Juan Fulo, Carliza, 14, and Cecil, 10, Rebenque, and Fraulin Miguel, 22, were still recuperating from injuries at the Paete General Hospital, Sr. Supt. Manolito Labador, Laguna provincial police director, said in a text message.
