3 Koreans stabbed dead in Olongapo

Philippine Daily Inquirer

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Three members of a Korean family were stabbed and killed in their house in Olongapo City on Sunday morning, a report reaching this regional police camp said.

Policemen found the bodies of Seok Hei Jang, 54, her daughter Suna Yoo, 35, and her granddaughter, Haneul Baek, 10, sprawled in the bedroom of their house at Sitio Kakilingan, Iram resettlement in Barangay Cabalan.

Suna Yoo’s son, Sangcheol, 11, who slept in another room, found the bodies and reported the incident to the police.

Investigators said the suspects entered the house through a hole in the wall intended for the room’s air conditioning unit.

Investigators suspected that the mother and the girl were raped before they were killed as they were both found naked. The three victims had stab wounds in their heads.

An inventory of the victims’ property showed that all appliances and jewelry were intact while the P200,000 cash kept under a bed was missing.

Suna’s husband, Baek Jin Suk, was in South Korea when the attack happened.

Her father, Henry Choi, is a former contractor at the Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction Corp. at the Subic Bay Freeport in Zambales.

Three persons have been arrested in connection with the murders.

The boy is under police custody. Tonette Orejas, Inquirer Central Luzon; AP
