MANILA, Philippines? The meeting between the world?s most powerful man and the world?s best boxer is scheduled on Feb. 15.

Pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao confirmed his meeting with US President Barack Obama in an interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal?s Ruel J. Mendoza on Saturday night.

Pacquiao said he received the invitation for him to meet Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House this February during the interview which took place during the 10th birthday party of Emmanuel Jr., Pacquiao?s eldest child, at Palms Country Club in Alabang.

Pacquiao is slated to leave for Los Angeles on Wednesday to kick off the press tour of his May 7 showdown with American Shane Mosley for the World Boxing Organization welterweight crown at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

According to Pacquiao, who?ll be accompanied by wife Jinkee to the White House, he holds Obama in high esteem and is excited to meet the US president.

Key members of Team Pacquiao, including the boxer?s lawyer and chief of staff Jeng Gacal, will accompany the eight-division world champion in the press tour, but only the Pacquiao couple have been invited to the White House.

Pacquiao, who is also slated to meet with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada, was supposed to meet with Obama after his 12-round demolition of Antonio Margarito last November, but it hit a snag.

The press tour will start at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles on Feb 10. It will also take Team Pacquiao and Mosley?s entourage to Las Vegas on Feb. 12 and the Chelsea Piers to New York City on Feb. 14.

Pacquiao?s meeting with Reid, whom he endorsed in last year?s US elections, will also take place on Feb. 15.
