MANILA, Philippines--A moneychanger shop lost P3 million to six suspected robbers in Tondo, Manila, Friday afternoon.
Police said Edgardo Aceveda and Isaias Jose Ignacio, both 33, messengers of Good Rate Money Changer, had just withdrawn the money from a bank and were on their way to their stall inside Tutuban Mall when they were robbed.
Investigation showed the incident occurred at 2:18 p.m. near the south gate of the mall.
The victims told police six men blocked their way and at gunpoint grabbed their bag containing the cash.
Aceveda said he attempted to resist but one of the robbers pointed his gun at him, prompting him to let go of the bag.
The suspects escaped on motorcycles driven by cohorts who had served as lookouts.
Joe Arceo, owner of the shop, said it was the second time he was robbed. Tina G. Santos
