MANILA, Philippines--The following is a statement from Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. president and CEO Lorenzo V. Tan:

We, the members of the Yuchengco Group of Companies, mourn the death of the officers, staff and a single client of the RCBC Science Park Branch, who were victims in a robbery/homicide incident [Friday] morning.

We strongly condemn the people who perpetrated such act. We convey our condolences to those who have lost loved ones, all of whom will be permanently affected by this tragedy.

We grieve with them in this trying moment and will provide the assistance necessary to ensure decent and respectable final arrangements for the victims.

RCBC is now working closely with relevant government authorities and exerting all effort to ensure that justice will be served to those people behind this reckless, careless and heinous crime.

Our publics will constantly be updated as we get closer to the resolution of this case.

RCBC would like to assure its depositors, especially those of our Science Park Branch, that your banking needs will be served continuously in spite of situations such as this.

For your immediate transactions, we advise that you redirect them temporarily to our nearby Sta. Rosa Branch. We shall advise you soon as to when we can resume our operations in our Science Park branch.
