Manila City workers to get early bonus

EMPLOYEES at the Manila City Hall were greeted with good news during Monday?s flag-raising ceremony as Mayor Alfredo Lim announced that the mid-year bonus would be released earlier. The bonus will represent half of the workers? 13th-month pay and other cash benefits. ?Hopefully it will be enough for enrollment because we know that some of you are sending [your] children and other family members to school,? Lim said. At the same time, he directed the city treasurer?s office to process the early release of half of the employees? annual cash gift and the monthly allowance for May. In return, Lim asked the city hall employees to be efficient public servants. ?I am exhorting and appealing to each and every one of you to please do what is expected from each and every one of us, from the mayor down to the janitor, to render what is due the public.
