MANILA, Philippines?A hero?s welcome awaits newly crowned boxing champion Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire Jr. in Taguig City after he defeated Mexican Fernando Montiel last week in Las Vegas.

Taguig Mayor Ma. Laarni Cayetano directed city officials to prepare the honors for Donaire, who needed only about five minutes to demolish Montiel and snatch the World Boxing Council and World Boxing Organization bantamweight titles from the Mexican.

Meanwhile, Filipino-British brothers James and Phil Younghusband, the popular members of the Azkals behind the Younghusband Football Academy, have expressed their interest in returning to Taguig City this summer to teach more people, especially the youth, how to play football.

?The Azkals have granted our wish. This summer, they [will] teach the young people of Taguig how to play football European style,? Cayetano said in a statement.

This came after the successful two-day football clinic held at the BNS Parade Ground Naval Station in Fort Bonifacio, which was attended by some 240 Physical Education teachers from the city.
