‘SNATCHER’ NABBED

A 27-YEAR-OLD man was arrested shortly after a snatching incident in barangay Lawaan I, Talisay City, southern Cebu, yesterday afternoon.
Junilo Reyes was accused of snatching the bag of a 17-year-old female college student.
Police said the victim was riding a passenger jeepney when a man grabbed her bag.
The victim shouted for help and drew the attention of patrolling policemen PO1 Benjie Pantuan and PO1 Rogelio Rabaya.
The two policemen chased Reyes, who was cornered about 100 meters from where the snatching occurred.
Recovered from Reyes’ possession was a shoulder bag containing a cell phone and P90 cash.

MAN STABBED BY BROD

A 48-YEAR-OLD man was stabbed and wounded by his elder brother who pacified him for making noise in the neighborhood in barangay Canjulao, Lapu-Lapu City.
Esmeraldo Cabahug sustained stab wounds in the body. He was confined in a Cebu City hospital.
The suspect, Esmeralado’s 55-year-old brother Vicente, surrendered to the police after the incident.
Police said Vicente and his friends were having a videoke session in a birthday party in sitio Kolo.
Later, Esmeraldo asked Vicente to stop their singing since it was almost midnight.
Esmeraldo and Vicente got into a heated argument that led to the stabbing.
Vicente surrendered to barangay captain Nestor Paypa, who turned him over to the police./REPORTER JUCELL MARIE P. CUYOS

MAN COLLARED IN BUY-BUST

A 33-YEAR-OLD man was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in sitio Sangi, barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City, on Monday night.
Police said Lope Sottomayor was arrested after he allegedly sold two small sachets of suspected shabu worth P500 to a poseur-buyer.
The buy-bust operation was conducted by the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group (CAIDSOTG) of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LLCPO).
The arresting team, headed by Insp. Glenn Hife, recovered 20 small sachets of suspected shabu and a .357- revolver with four live bullets from the suspect.

DISCO STABBING

A 13-YEAR-OLD boy and his cousin were stabbed and wounded in a disco in sitio Kalapukan, barangay Tisa, Cebu City, last Sunday dawn.
The boy and his cousin, Danilo Ygonia, argued with suspect Jerome Abella, who barred the boy from entering the disco.
At the height of the argument, the suspect drew a knife and attacked the two cousins.
The victims were rushed to a hospital.
Abella later surrendered to the police./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
