?NOBODY,? A SONG SANG BY an all-girl Korean pop group, proved deadly for a 32-year-old man in Manila who was knifed to death on Monday night by drunken patrons of a videoke bar who were apparently irked by his interpretation of the popular ditty.

Michael Viray, a resident of Dasmariñas, Cavite, was declared dead on arrival at Manila Doctors? Hospital from stab wounds in the face and neck.

His attacker, whom witnesses failed to identify, fled after the stabbing.

PO3 Jay Santos of the Manila Police District homicide section said the victim was attacked at around 10:30 p.m. on Monday at Benson Place Videoke Bar at the corner of Guerrero Street and UN Avenue in Ermita.

Just minutes before he was stabbed, Viray and his friends were drinking at the bar when they decided to sing the Wonder Girls? hit song.

Their rendition, however, irked another group of drinkers at a nearby table who made their displeasure known by shouting them down.

At this point, the bar supervisor immediately intervened to prevent a brawl between the groups.

He asked the group at the other table to leave and then instructed his employees to lock the grill gates of the bar to keep the troublemakers out while allowing Viray and his friends to stay.

Viray, however, decided to approach the other group in an attempt to placate them but one of the men promptly stabbed him in the face and in the neck through the grills.
