MANILA, Philippines--Victims of Tropical Storm ?Ondoy? who have been staying since Sept. 26 in evacuation centers in Muntinlupa City have been given three options.
The 1,007 families have been living in 12 temporary shelters for the past two months after floodwaters forced them to leave their homes.
on Tuesday, they were given three options on how to go about resuming their normal lives.
According to the city government, the families can either rent an apartment, return to their home provinces or repair their houses which were wrecked by floods.
Those who opt to rent will receive a financial assistance of P3,000.
On the other hand, the city government will shoulder the transport fares of families who choose to go back to their provinces.
Meanwhile, those who decide to remain in the city will receive P7,000 worth of construction materials so that they could repair their flood-damaged houses.
