MANILA, Philippines--Making the most out of a surprise advantage, the Philippine Patriots blasted the Indonesia Satria Muda BritAma, 74-56, and grabbed a share of the lead in the Asean Basketball League Saturday at the FilOil-Flying V Arena in San Juan.
The Patriots streaked to their fourth straight victory to join the idle Singapore Slingers on top for the first time at 5-1 as Indonesia played minus 6-foot-9 American import Nakiea Miller.
?We had a big advantage because they played with only one import, that?s a very big advantage for us,?said Patriots coach Louie Alas. ?Jason Dixon is also starting to get his game-shape condition.?
The absence of proper documents sidelined Miller, who only suited up recently for Satria Muda BritAma, averaged 14.5 points and 16 rebounds in his last two outings.
Dixon posted his second straight double-double for the Patriots with a team-high 12 points on top of 10 rebounds. He added five assists and three blocks.
The Patriots will have a 10-day break before clashing with the cellar-dwelling Thailand Tigers on Dec. 1 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
