MANILA, Philippines?A 24-year-old man who had P550 in cash stolen from him also lost his life after a teenager whom he had accused of taking the money stabbed him before dawn Monday.
Ace Vergel Victorino, a resident of 819 Fullon St. in Tondo, Manila, was declared dead on arrival by attending doctors at Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center due to a stab wound in the chest.
Victorino?s friend, BJ Tibay, 23, was also injured in the attack and was taken to the same hospital where he remains confined for a stab wound.
Manila policemen said they were conducting follow-up operations for the arrest of Christopher Vargas, 19, who immediately escaped after the attack on the two men.
SPO3 Benito Cabatbat of the Manila Police District homicide section said the stabbing incident took place at around 1:30 a.m. Monday in an alley at the corner of Prudencio and Gabriela Streets in Tondo.
Earlier, Victorino, who was with Tibay, accused the teenager of stealing his money, leading to a heated argument between them.
The police said that as the two men were exchanging heated words, the teenager suddenly left.
When he returned, he had a knife which he used to stab Victorino and Tibay.
After attacking the two men, the teenager fled as concerned bystanders in the area rushed the victims to the hospital.
