MANILA, Philippines--The number coding scheme for vehicles will be lifted on Monday, Nov. 2, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chair Bayani Fernando said Thursday.
Fernando said they would be implementing the ?Oplan Kaluluwa? interagency contingency plan to ensure the smooth flow of traffic in the vicinity of cemeteries.
?Oplan Kaluluwa? will involve the MMDA Traffic and Transport Management Office, Philippine National Police, Traffic Enforcement Group and local government units.
Fernando said the MMDA would deploy more than 1,200 traffic enforcers to all major thoroughfares starting on Saturday to manage traffic and ensure the safety of commuters and pedestrians. They will also provide assistance to the public in road emergency cases, he added.
