MANILA, Philippines--Manuel Jimenez Jr., one of the accused in the murder of his daughter-in-law, Ruby Rose Barrameda-Jimenez, was transferred to the Philippine Heart Center (PHC) earlier this week after he was told by the court to move to a government hospital.
His temporary warden, Angono (Rizal) chief of police Supt. Rommel Estolano, also asked the court to transfer the accused under the jurisdiction of the Quezon City Police District or to the National Capital Region Police Office, after his transfer out of Rizal province.
Jimenez will be spending his hospital arrest at the PHC while the Malabon-Navotas Regional Trial Court Branch 170 is still hearing his petition for bail.
The suspect earlier asked the court to put him under hospital arrest, upon advice of his doctor because of heart problems.
Jimenez was confined at the Angono Medics Hospital immediately after he surrendered to police on Sept. 4, after an arrest warrant was issued against him.
Estolano has already filed a motion asking the court to assign the QC police as Jimenez?s jailer, since the PHC is beyond his jurisdiction as Angono police chief.
Jimenez?s lawyer, Mario Aguinaldo, said in an interview that his client is currently undergoing various laboratory tests at the PHC.
The tests were also ordered by Malabon-Navotas RTC Judge Hector Almeyda so the court can verify Jimenez?s state of health.
